The NHS consults on a massive scale. Recent legislation has provided a new framework, but its relationship with community groups, local authorities and other is well established, but needs consistent management. An increasing number of NHS Trusts belong to the Institute which has provided extensive training for Public and Patient Involvement teams both in England and for their Welsh and Scottish equivalents.

 

The Institute has also worked closely with NHS Education in Scotland to develop tailor-made training courses for practitioners and for senior executives.

   

The Institute proposes a new Health Special Interest Group  to be chaired by Brenda Cook  and focused on topical issues. This is open to Members only with the inaugural meeting scheduled for Spring 2010
