Amanda Murrell
Amanda is a freelance consultant with over 10 years experience, specialising in resident engagement, community consultation and communications.
She has a proven track record as a senior manager for regional government as well as working with central government within the environmental and regeneration fields. She was Head of Communications and Consultation at Woodberry Down where her work in the delivery of consultation with the Woodberry Down regeneration project and communications to diverse audiences, gained recognition and reference internally and externally from central government in the Communities and Local Government Green Paper 2007, Homes for the Future: More Affordable, More Sustainable. She was commended as runner up for the ENCAMS annual awards for best practice methodology in ways of engaging and partnership working with the community.
She has worked in partnership with the national Participatory Budgeting Unit to write and deliver training on Participatory Budgeting. Previously Amanda worked for local authorities in Bedford and London Boroughs with over ten years experience in this area. She is working with a range of local authorities and Local Strategic Partnerships, including West Sussex, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire on issues such as how to effectively deliver community engagement and consultation, encouraging partnership working within LSPs, how to get the most out of participatory budgeting programmes and publications for regeneration projects.
