Donal McDade

 

Donal established Social Market Research (SMR) in 2003 and since then SMR has gone on to become the leading independent social research company in Northern Ireland. 

Donal has a reputation for conducting highly complex and sensitive consultation and research exercises for not-for-profit organizations in the government, statutory, academic, voluntary and community sectors. 

Donal’s expertise lies in designing and implementing consultations to inform and shape public policy.   He is highly skilled in devising, applying and measuring reliable and valid indicators to assess organizational performance, as well as the impact of different policy initiatives and programs. 

He is highly skilled in designing population surveys, employee opinion research and customer surveys.  In the last 12 months alone Donal has conducted assignments on behalf of the Northern Ireland Assembly, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Public Health Agency, the Department of Health, City of Edinburgh Council and the Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation.

Throughout his career, he has worked for the Northern Ireland Government and all of the government departments in Northern Ireland (environment, health, education etc) and has contributed significantly to issues associated with an evolving peace process, as well as public sector reorganization.
