Section 242, of the 2006 NHS Act, obliges Health Trusts to consult the public on changes to services, and will increasingly become an important part of many Managers' responsibilities as the NHS seeks to become more responsive to local people. So this course will be essential to widen their understanding of the S.242 provision and how to engage in consultations under it. The course presents an explanation of the legal requirements and draws upon best practice to advise participants on the best methods available to meet these obligations. The afternoon is devoted to putting theory into practice through fully-interactive Workshops.
