2010 Aims

In 2010, the Institute will focus on four main themes:-

• Continuing focus on the Section 242 obligation
  • The Institute course on Section 242 – delivered by Brenda Cook and Sally Brearley – is well established and available for public or in-house delivery
  • The 2010 version of the course will focus on new reporting requirements effective soon
• Support for Local Involvement Networks
  • The Institute has run three specific Seminars on LINks – and will continue in 2010
  • A Briefing paper on the future of LINks is currently in preparation
• Compliance Assessment
  • High-profile, controversial consultations may require independent endorsement as best practice
  • The Institute offers support for NHS Trusts on appropriate projects
  • Participate (UK) is an Institute Associate with experience of Compliance Assessment in the NHS
• Foundation Trusts
  • New for 2010 – to examine consultation best practice re Trust ‘members’; Roundtables later in the year
