2010 Aims

In 2010, the Institute will focus on four main themes:- 

  • Applying the 2007 Planning Act
    • The Institute is monitoring consultations on the National Policy Statements (NPSs)
    • Special Seminars in 2009 will be continued in 2010
  • Skills Training for Planning & Regeneration staff
    • Making Consultation Meaningful especially adapted for Planners in association with the RTPI
    • In-house workshops available for stakeholder mapping and other specialist skills
  • Major Infrastructure Projects
    • Forthcoming Roundtable – Seeking a Return on Public engagement Investment – 28th January 2010
    • The 2009 Roundtable on major transport projects and road pricing will be repeated in 2010
  • Consultation and the Green agenda
    • The Institute is now talking to major players in waste management, energy and water industries.
    • Sauce Consultancy (link?) is an Institute Professional Partner specialising in communications for the ‘green’ agenda
