Penny is highly experienced in consultation, community relations and public affairs for the built environment sector, having run many public consultations on behalf of commercial developers, housebuilders, retailers and large scale regeneration schemes.
Penny’s wide ranging knowledge and experience inspired her book, Public Consultation and Community Involvement in Planning: a twenty-first century guide, which was published by Routledge in 2017 and has received positive reviews from across the consultation and planning sectors. Penny has written extensively on consultation for publications including Town and Country Planning, the RICS Land Journal, CoStar, Planning in London and Construction Manager.
Penny is a member of tCI’s Planning Working Group, contributes regularly to our online resources and has spoken at events organised by the Institute.
She has a masters qualification in business administration and a postgraduate diploma in PR. She is a Fellow and a Founder Chartered Member of the CIPR and founded the CIPR’s Construction and Property Special Interest Group.
Working independently since 2011, Penny maintains as a healthy work / life balance, as a mother, a musician and a fair-weather sailor.
