Brian Parry

Institute Fellow and Associate Profile

Brian Parry offers consultation and public engagement experience gained at the highest level, having previously worked as Head of Public Engagement for the Central Office of Information, the UK Government’s marketing communications agency.  A former senior civil servant, Brian has extensive experience of designing and delivering consultations and public engagement programmes across Whitehall departments.  This includes delivery of the largest, and in some cases more controversial consultations of recent years, covering topics such as new nuclear, social care, organ donation, children’s services, and the adult skills agenda.

A management consultant by background with KPMG London, Brian has operated at senior board level for over 25 years, focusing primarily on the development of evidence-based strategy, effective stakeholder engagement and the development of robust public policy.  He established his own business, Brian Parry Associates, in 2012 to support clients with the design and delivery of cost effective public engagement strategies and the design of effective stakeholder management solutions.

Brian is a qualified market researcher and an experienced facilitator.  A registered member of the Market Research Society, he is comfortable facilitating a wide range of audiences, from large public groups through to more senior stakeholder meetings and bespoke workshops.   As an Associate of St George’s House, Windsor Castle, Brian regularly leads senior level stakeholder discussions on a range of social policy issues.

Recent projects include stakeholder mapping for a Clinical Commissioning Group, facilitation support at stakeholder workshops on behalf of NHS Wales, the design and delivery of a UK-wide stakeholder engagement programme for Forces in Mind Trust on the transition support needs of Service families, as well as strategic planning and implementation support for Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s City Deal bid programme.

As supporter social justice, Brian takes part in the annual sleeping rough event in support of Action for Children, which aims to reduce homelessness amongst young people.
