FREE Virtual Roundtable- Tackling Air Quality: A challenge for public engagement
Join the virtual Roundtable event from The Consultation Institute and BDB Pitmans:
Date:Â Thursday 13th May
Time:Â 11am
As the nation emerges from the pandemic, few issues are more likely to jump up the municipal agenda than air quality.
In December, a Coroner’s verdict in London confirmed that air pollution had contributed to the death of a nine-year old girl, prompting calls for a more vigorous Government response. In fact, Clean Air Zones are slowly being introduced, but they are only part of a much wider issue. With hundreds of Councils declaring a climate emergency, they have to engage with the public about hard choices that will affect personal behaviour and lifestyle. This includes reducing our dependence upon cars!
This Roundtable is an opportunity to hear about the factors that will influence what Councils can and cannot do in this area. By bringing together campaigners, policy specialists and authorities who are already tackling this subject, we can cover a spectrum of emerging issues.
This interactive session also benefits from the involvement of specialists in legal and regulatory issues as well as the requirements for public engagement and consultation. Progress is unlikely unless Councillors, local government officials and environmental campaigners take account of these matters.
This event is free for any organisations with an interest in this topic. Click here to book your place for the Roundtable now!
