Join us for The Perfect Blend: Expectations for Councillors in 2023 ☕
Date: TBC
Due to the nature of this event, spaces are limited at 30 attendees
The Institute’s ever-popular virtual coffee morning, The Perfect Blend, is back this month for a session discussing the challenges facing new and returning councillors in 2023.
Few experiences in life can prepare newly elected councillors for the civic duty that lies ahead. With shrinking budgets, withdrawal of services, and the pressing need for climate-friendly behaviour change, elected members can find themselves caught between the desire of their electors for more and better, whilst listening to their officers talk about making savings and trying to avoid things getting worse.
So, what can local authorities do to support councillors? What challenges might there be? We want to hear your thoughts experiences, including sharing actions, techniques and methods you typically deploy.
Pick up a brew, grab a biscuit, and join the conversation. Register your interest here to be the first to secure your place.
