Gathering Evidence for Option Development Half-day
Option development is a critical stage in developing the best possible solutions for new policies, service change and service design.
Any body wanting better solutions than the status quo, whether for reasons of improvement or costs, should want to do this to good practice standards. The key is gathering the evidence needed.
This Gathering Evidence for Option Development course starts by introducing the rationale for doing this well. It then takes participants on a journey to explore:
- what constitutes evidence,
- the potential sources of evidence,
- the methods for collecting evidence,
- how to engage and involve people to gain and build evidence (rather than views),
- how to create debate and deliberation where different stakeholders present contradictory evidence, and
- converting the evidence into the information to support solution/option design
