Follow one of our 3 agreed pathways through foundation to advanced to gain consultation and engagement qualifications and accreditation that bring provable knowledge to your CV.
Certificate of Professional Development (CPD)
The CPD is a flexible foundation qualification that allows people to focus on areas they need to grow. It is well-suited for people early in their career and gives them a complete grounding in the basics of consultation and engagement.
To gain this certification, you must achieve 210 points through completing a variety of the courses. At least 150 points must come from intermediate or advanced virtual workshops. The remaining 60 points can come from the foundation e-learning modules.
Points are allocated as:
- e-learning foundation courses = 5 points each (except free ones, which are 0 points)
- e-learning foundation course, Law of consultation = 10 points
- Intermediate and in-house courses = 30 points
- Advanced courses = 40 points
Courses must include:
Advanced Certificate in Consultation and Engagement (ACCE)
The ACCE is a different to the other qualifications. You join a limited group of 12 professionals and work through a 4 month programme of training together.
This builds shared learning and experience, as well as confidence and expertise.
This course is ideal for people who want a supportive, pre-determined programme.
Over the 4 months, you complete:
- 8 foundation self-paced e-learning courses (5 of which are pre-determined, and 3 are personal choice)
- 5 intermediate virtual workshops
- 1 in-person workshop – Law of consultation

Advanced Practitioner Certificate
(APC)
The APC is the advanced qualification offered. It builds on and the CPD, which must be completed first.
This qualification is for people who want to demonstrate their continued commitment to their career and enhancing and honing their knowledge and expertise.
To gain this certification, you must achieve 220 points.  160 points come from the four advanced virtual workshops which are compulsory. The remaining 60 points can come from intermediate workshops. Foundation e-learning courses do not count towards APC.
Points are allocated as:
- Intermediate and in-house courses = 30 points
- Advanced courses = 40 points
