Building on the introduction course, this Advanced Digital Engagement moves from competent practitioner to strategic leader. Designed for consultation and engagement professionals who are ready to use digital tools with greater sophistication – and to lead digital engagement in their organisations. The day covers the strategic and technical dimensions that the introduction covers but does not go deep on:

  • working efficiently across consultation cycles
  • using digital marketing tools to reach harder-to-find audiences, applying persuasion principles to content
  • developing short-form video, and understanding how AI and changing search behaviour are reshaping the information environment communities operate in

The harder questions get proper attention too – how to manage the full range of risks in digital engagement, how to use AI responsibly to support the work, and how to build an evaluation approach that generates a robust evidence trail rather than just a set of numbers to report. Participants spend the final session applying the day’s learning directly to a real piece of their own upcoming work.
