A regime of its own
Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects are major infrastructure developments in England and Wales that bypass normal local planning requirements. Its very precise format means that it has many merits that are sometimes lacking in a regular planning application, as this course looks to demonstrate.
The precision is the argument. An NSIP consultation follows a set sequence, and the Statement of Community Consultation commits the promoter in public to how the consultation will run before it starts. Two modules follow that shape. The first walks the sequence from planning application to consultation report. The second deals with where things go wrong.
