Our commitment to tackling modern slavery
This statement is made under section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps tCI Group Limited ("tCI", "we") has taken during the financial year ending 2026 to make sure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or our supply chains.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We have a zero-tolerance approach. We act ethically and with integrity in all our relationships, and to putting in place effective systems and controls to guard against slavery and trafficking anywhere in our operations.
01Our organisation
tCI Group Limited is a UK-based professional body and provider of training, membership, advisory and quality-assurance services in the field of public consultation and engagement. We operate primarily in England and Wales through a small team of employees supported by a network of specialist associate trainers, facilitators and advisers. We do not manufacture goods and have no overseas operations.
02Our supply chains
Our supply chains are relatively short and, we assess, low-risk. They are made up predominantly of UK-based professional and business services rather than the manufacturing, agriculture or overseas-labour sectors where the risk of modern slavery is highest. Our main categories of supplier are:
Self-employed trainers, facilitators and expert advisers engaged on our associate terms.
Training venues, conference facilities and catering for in-person events.
Software, hosting and IT platforms that run our website, learning platform and tools.
Design, print and production of learning materials and publications.
Accountancy, legal, insurance and other professional advisers.
Office premises, utilities and general operational suppliers.
We recognise that a low overall risk does not mean no risk, and that certain categories, such as venues, hospitality and outsourced facilities services, can carry a higher exposure to labour exploitation. We keep this under review.
03Our policies
The following policies set out our stance and support our approach to identifying and preventing modern slavery. They are reviewed regularly and available to all staff and associates.
04Due diligence
Our due diligence is proportionate to our size and risk profile. During the year we:
05Risk assessment
We assess where the risk of modern slavery is most likely to arise across our activities and suppliers, and match our controls accordingly.
| Area | Assessed risk | Key controls |
|---|---|---|
| Direct employees | Low | Right-to-work checks, PAYE payroll, contracts, direct HR oversight |
| Associate network | Low to medium | Identity checks, written associate agreements, direct engagement (no intermediaries) |
| Venues & hospitality | Medium | Reputable providers, supplier standards, periodic review |
| Technology & software | Low | Established UK/EU vendors publishing their own MSA statements |
| Print, design & facilities | Low to medium | Long-standing UK suppliers, procurement checks |
06Training & awareness
All staff are made aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking as part of induction and ongoing awareness. Colleagues involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management receive additional guidance on spotting the warning signs and on the checks and escalation routes to follow if they have concerns.
07Measuring effectiveness
We use the following indicators to monitor how effective our approach is, and we review them each year.
| Indicator | Position for FY ending 2026 |
|---|---|
| Right-to-work checks completed for new engagements | 100% |
| Confirmed incidents of modern slavery | None identified |
| Concerns raised through whistleblowing | None relating to modern slavery |
| Staff and associates aware of our anti-slavery policy | All staff; associates on engagement |
| Suppliers asked to meet our supplier standards | Standard terms applied to new and renewing suppliers |
